Because of its shifting nature, people come and go from The Tablelands. Because of its chaotic brutality, those that thrive on its unforgiving sleekness are remarkable. Below are a handful of such noteworthy folk, famous throughout the tabletop.
One of the two titans who claim to rule The Tablelands Ray is notable in that he is more elephantine in appearance. His thick hide is legendary, as is his ability to throw himself great distances. He is famous for his "one-two punch" wherein he throws himself over the head of his foe only to deliver two punches to the back of their head.
His nose is trumpety. Its fanfare can be heard all across The Tablelands, sounding the call to battle with his rival, Roy Du Le Plateau.
Long ago, according to his legend, it was written in a large tome that Roy should be lord of all The Tablelands. So it was written and so Roy is determined to make it so. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees. So there is conflict. Most notably with Ray De La Mesa, another large fellow who wants to rule.
Roy is a known killer, preferring to kill by strangling his victims with his large hands. In battle, he wields a large axe to chop down his foes like so many ailing trees. For some reason, his face is said to be covered in cloth sack.
O'er hill, o'er dale, o'er mountain and stream, all who dwell on the Table have heard the tell of the song of Poddlytonk Flatblat. A strange boy, beautiful, and somehow, more true than your average Jake, he travels the Tablelands with music blowing beside him on the wind, accompanying his song of life and limberness.
As he comes, so he goes, leaving a bell in the heart of those who heard him and an echo of joy in his wake.
Need something? Need something special? Then you need the right man to get it for you. When, it comes to Scripts Nova, chances are he already has, squirreled away somewhere, exactly what you need. The price, isn't pretty, but the goods are golden and you probably won't find them anywhere else unless you find a store somewhere that's selling the thing you're looking for. Only trouble is that, like such a store, it's not always easy to find Scripts Nova especially considering The Tablelands is such a large space and both you and he are moving around.
The conflict between Ray De La Mesa and Roy Du Le Plateau has been raging for so long, it's become something of a boring fire. Not so no longer! Enter a new player in the leadership game- Caleb Knight: his cry is freedom! Unlike the twin titans of monarchy, Caleb does not wish to rule The Tablelands. Rather, he wants it to remain free. So, he strikes with technology, planning, and precision on the would-be dictators effectively turning the struggle into a three way war.
Gee Trevlovich is a famous explorer. Hailing from The Shelves, he comes to The Tablelands to tell tales of that far-off place's bustling city, where its denizens sleep in the same place every night and stores sell everything you need. He comes also to ask questions of the people of The Tablelands; to take their picture, to film their exploits, to sell books. His stories, if true, are interesting; otherwise, they are a fiction both curious and dull.
